Janan Nima Hadi Al Hajjar

  Janan Nima Hadi is a well-established researcher and lecturer holding a PhD in Biotechnology (sub-specialty Biochemistry and Human Genetics) from the Biotechnology Research Institute, University Malaysia Sabah. She holds an MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences (sub-specialty, Pharmaceutical technology) from the School of Pharmacy, International University Malaysia (IIUM), and a BSc in Chemistry from Baghdad University, Iraq.

Janan has over ten years of teaching and research experience in the faculties of Pharmacy, Allied Health, and Medicine, teaching subjects like Pharmaceutical technology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Human Genetics. She has taught at the International University Malaysia, University Malaysia Sabah, and Al-Zahraa University in Karbala, Iraq. She is currently working in and helping to establish the stem-cell center in Karbala. 

Janan's research interests include medicinal plants and drug formulation for the treatment of chronic diseases including cancer and diabetes mellitus at the molecular level. She has participated in international workshops and conferences and has several published research papers. Janan has received scientific awards for her research work, including a Bronze Medal at the UMS Research and Innovation Competition and a Second Place Best Poster Award at the 12th Malaysia International Genetics Congress.

Janan has authored or co-authored several publications, including papers in Transactions on Science and Technology, Molecular Diversity Preservation International, and the International Journal of Pharmaceutical Science Invention. She has also presented her research work at conferences such as the Nucleic Acids and Immunity Conference in Brno, Czech Republic.

2022 - current:           Lecturer in Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Zahraa University (Karbala) for 			Women, teaching Biosafety and Biosecurity (Bio-risk Management) 

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Utilizing medicinal plants and drug formulations to treat chronic diseases such as cancer and diabetes mellitus at the molecular level.
