  Professor Nadhir Najim Abdullah Jafar was born in Basra (1959), Iraq. He received his B.SC. Degree in Chemistry, M.Sc. Degree in applied chemistry from Jordan university of science and technology. Irbid. Jordan and PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Babylon, Babylon, Iraq. He worked as a lecturer and then as assist. professor in organic chemistry. He supervised and examined for many postgraduate students (PhD & M.Sc.) level in Iraqi universities.
- Prof. of organic chemistry in Al-Mustaqbal College/ Dep. of Pharmacy from 15/9/2017-15/1/2020. 
- Working as a faculty member Pharmacy college. Prof. of organic chemistry in Al-Zahraa University for women/ Pharmacy college from 15/3/2020-1/11/2020.
- Working as a faculty member of Al-Bayan University/ pharmacy college. Prof. of organic chemistry in from 1/12/2020- 1/9/2021.
- Professor of Organic Chemistry and director of AL-Zahraa Center for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences Research from 1/9/2021 - present.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

His current research interests including synthesis of drug and developments, synthesis of organic fluorescent compounds that have medical applications.

- And the synthesis of new anti-HIV/AIDS and anti-hepatitis virus C (HCV) candidates. 
- Conformational analysis of bioactive molecules by molecular modelling study, QSAR and 2D NMR techniques
